My name is Tessa Verhoef. I am a postdoc at the University of California, San Diego in the Center for Research in Language (CRL) in the group of Prof. Carol Padden.

In 2013, I obtained my PhD degree at the Amsterdam Center for Language and Communication (ACLC) of the University of Amsterdam. My project was about the evolution of speech and my daily supervisor was Prof. Bart de Boer. My external supervisor was Prof. Simon Kirby from the Language Evolution and Computation (LEC) research unit at the University of Edinburgh.

For my BA and MSc I studied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen. On this website you will find information about my PhD project, other projects that I worked on in the past and my personal interests.
