audio control panel

Your platform’s way of controlling where sounds will be played, and how loud.

On macOS X or 11 or 12 or 13 or 14, go to the Apple menu, then to System Settings (older: System Preferences), then to Sound, then to Output. If you want to change only the loudness, then modern Macs have three keys on the keyboard for that.

On Ubuntu Linux 18.04 or 20.04 or 22.04, go to the left side bar, then to Settings, then to Sound, then to Output (a loudspeaker icon can be in the menu bar).

On Windows 10 or 11, it lies somewhat deeper: go to the Start icon, then to Settings, then to System, then to Sound, then to Output.
