Measurement levels

According to the measurement theory of Stevens (1951), there are four measurement levels, namely Nominal, Ordinal, Interval and Ratio. In the light of multidimensional scaling, the first two levels, Nominal and Ordinal, are often called non-metric. The last two are metric.
