Summary: 2 Speakers (M29AK and M31AP)

M31AP starts the conversation by saying that he thinks that bullfights
are awful. He does not like the way bull fighters engage in a fight
with a bull, he thinks that they are cowards. He thinks that it is
perhaps an idea to put the bullfighters together in one arena. He says
that this is the biologist in him. M29AK says that most biologists
don’t mind that animals are killed. He knows a lot of biologists who
are not vegetarians as a matter of principle.  M31AP says that as a
biologist you know that people are omnivores and that it is unnatural
to only eat plants. 

They talk about a fieldwork trip they went on together. A couple of
colleagues took some samples of rare plants and insects with them.
They talk about people they both know. They mention an old friend,
that he had a good sense of humour. This brings up some memories.
M29AK said that he was really good at his profession. M31AP says that
he can only remember that he was a Christian. This reminds them of a
fellow student. M31AP says that if you are religious you should not
look for evidence that might question religion. They discuss their
views on religion and science. In science something is first proven
and then it is believed, but it can also be the other way around.
M31AP says that science is a kind of religion, because a scientist
believes in a kind of logic, but he does not know if this is always
valid. M29AK says that certain laws of nature may change. M31AP says
that he really likes Science Fiction films, because it gives more
freedom than science. M29AK asks why he never studied philosophy.
M31AP says that this was the only course that he was not really good
at. They talk about philosophy.
